The 'New Design' for the $100 Bill; cool & secure!

Remarkable new security features have been devised after more than a decade of research and development. And they're actually pretty amazing!!

Although the recession has left many people cash strapped, you'll want to be on the look out for Ben Franklin's new makeover,  The new C-note recently had its ceremonial inveiling at the Treasury  Department's appropieately titled 'Cash Room.'

The new notes will be issued early next year, on February 10, 2011.  Of course, the approximately 6.5 billion older bills already in circulation will remain legal tender.

This is the first time in fourteen years that the government has redesigned the $100 note.  It is all part of an effort to foil counterfeiters, who have used everything from new digital technology to old-fashioned printing prresses in their attempt to make fake cash.

The bill's new security features include a 3-D security ribbon on the front with images of bells and 100s that move and change as the bill is tilted.  The Liberty Bell also changes color when the bill is tilted, making it look as though the bell is disappearing in an inkwell next to Franklin's portrait.
